What happens next?

Your application has been received and we should have your account open within 24 hours. You will receive a welcome email from us with more information, and you should receive you debit card in 3 - 5 working days. You can already use Online Banking, and register for Mobile Banking via our mobile app.

You will receive a text message and/or email from our security partner Digidocs, with instructions of how to upload these documents. If you need help, check out our hints and tips for uploading your documents.

Your application is with our team who are just completing some final checks, before we can move forwards with your application. We’ll do our best to complete this within 24 hours, and will contact you to let you know if your application is approved, or if we need anything else from you.

Web browsers can block pop-up windows that you might not want to see, but sometimes this can mean you don’t see them from a trusted site.

If our application window doesn’t appear to be launching, simply change the pop-up blocker settings for NatWest on your browser, to allow for pop-ups, and try launching the application again.

We know error messages can be very frustrating, so we’re sorry this has happened. Errors can occur for a number of reasons, and sometimes we cannot be totally clear on why we’ve shown the error message.

For security reasons, refreshing or using your browser’s built in ‘forward’ and ‘back’ buttons can cause error messages to occur, so be sure not to use these.

We’re sorry about that. There are a number of criteria that need to be meet to allow us to approve an application, and unfortunately on some occasions, we have to decline if these criteria aren't met. We understand that this may be disappointing and apologise for the inconvenience.

By law, all banks are required to check that applicants are who they say they are. This is important to avoid criminal activity such as money laundering, but also to keep all of our customers as safe as possible.
